Welcome to Project Life Tuesday! Today I thought I would share the next part of our Disney vacation scrapbook. On our way there, we stopped to visit relatives in Jacksonville and took a day trip to St. Augustine as the girls had never seen the ocean.
For these two pages, I started stamping certain words in my journaling to make them pop off the page. I love the effect it gives. For embellishment on these two pages, I used photo stickers that I had in my stash. The background paper is parchment cardstock in blue and cream. I love that it pairs perfectly with the sand and water in the pictures.
I just love my daughter’s expression as the cold waves hit her bare feet for the first time. We couldn’t have asked for a nicer day for my daughters to first see the ocean.
I really liked how this layout turned out. I used chevron patterned paper from a Recollections pack I found at Micheals. The bright yellow and aqua colors are just perfect for beach pictures. The die-cut shells and sand castle were cut with my Cricut.
We got to go out on the pier for awhile and the girls promptly made friends with a pelican that they named Lily. We also got the treat of seeing some dolphins playing in the waves. I wasn’t able to get a photo of that, but I did pick up a dolphin post card to include on my layout to help document the memory.
The Becky Higgins Design C Page protectors (as seen on the left) are a great way to include postcards in your layouts. I picked up quite a few when we visited the St. Augustine Lighthouse. Another fun thing to include in your layouts are passport stamps from attractions you visit. The national parks and a lot of lighthouses have passport stamps. I stamped them on an index card so I could include it on my page.
The Darth Gator was from a picture of a t-shirt I found in a gift shop window. Please tell me I am not the only one who takes pictures of amusing signs and other silly things like that! This page was pretty simple. I just used a few punched shapes as embellishments.
For this last page, I embellished the journal cards with stamping. The stamp set I used was Down by the Seaside by Inkadinkado. I had a lot of fun creating these cards and tried to tie them all to the colors of the patterned paper in the lower right corner.
So that’s all for this week. Next week I will be sharing our pictures from Disney’s Pop Century resort.
