Looking for a soap that’s not only great for your skin, but also smells amazing? Look no further than Lemon Rosemary Handmade Soap! This soap is perfect for anyone who wants a soap that is gentle enough for everyday use, but also has a strong scent that will leave you feeling refreshed and invigorated. Plus, it’s made with natural ingredients and is biodegradable, so it’s environmentally friendly as well!
I’ve brought you some of these handmade soaps in the last couple of months.
I just love making them, the smell is delicious, they are easy to make, and they are on the cheaper side of crafting. So I created these beautiful Lemon Rosemary Handmade Soaps.
You also don’t need a whole bunch of weird ingredients. Just a little goats milk soap, silicone molds, and if you want… a little soap coloring.
Everything else I pulled out of my kitchen. Some packaged lemon zest ( because I wasn’t sure what fresh juice would do to the soap) and rosemary from the spice cabinet.
I added the green soap coloring to make it natural looking and pretty. Easy to figure out from our stash of other handmade soaps. Can I tell you, I don’t get to use these, Annalise adores them and is using them all up. I guess that’s ok, I’m glad she likes the more natural soap that doesn’t have as many chemicals in it.
The scent of the mix in this bar is so beautiful. Outdoorsy with a touch of just clean.
Handmade Soap
You will need a package of goat’s milk soap suspension. I found mine on Amazon. That is a good price for $11.33, about $2 less then I purchased it at.
You will also need rosemary- about 2 tablespoons.
Lemon Zest-I use the packets, but you will need about a teaspoon of the dried zest.
Soap coloring-optional- blue and yellow- about 3 drops yellow to one drop blue.
Silicone molds- any kind works- I bought these rectangle ones that look like soap bars. Cause I’m totally crafty like that.
Don’t envy that creativity I tell ya!
Add some rosemary to the molds so that the top of the soap has the pieces of rosemary in it to be pretty and organic looking.
Cut the soap into 1/4 of the 2 lb package. It cuts pretty easy with a serrated knife. Then cut the soap into cubes and add to a glass measuring cup. Each 1 cup of melted soap makes 2 bars.
melt in the microwave for 30 second increments until the soap is completely melted and smooth.
Add in the lemon, rosemary and the colors.
Stir the combination well.
It looks pretty already!
To finish- simply pour the melted soap into the molds, just evenly dividing the soap as you fill the molds.
Then leave to set about 2 hours in a cool place. Once the soap is cooled, it pops right out of the silicone molds.
I leave my soap to air dry on some white paper for several days. I just feel like this gives a longer lasting effect to the soap.
Once they are dry, wrap them in some pretty handmade paper and ribbon.
I just hand wrote the name of the soap, you can print it out as well.
I should suggest that these make the prettiest gifts! Great for Christmas!
