It never fails – I have my hands full of groceries and as I am fumbling to find the right key for the front door of our house, I drop the keys. Frustrating! If you are like me, then you probably have a key ring full of keys – house keys, car keys, shed keys, luggage keys, and more. I counted and I have 15 keys on my key ring. That’s 15 keys to sort through every time I need to use one. Sorting through those keys wastes time. Fortunately someone has come up with a solution!
Label-Label Key Caps are a clever and affordable way to end your key sorting frustrations. Each pack of key caps contains 8 different colors so you can tell at a glance which key you need. I used the purple key cap for my house key. So I don’t have to fumble anymore. I know immediately which key I need. Quick and easy!
I have used some other key labeling systems in the past, but found they were a pain to put on the keys. This is not the case with Label-Label Key Caps. Their key caps are stretchy and flexible so you can put them on your keys easily. Their key caps fit most keys.
Each pack of Label-Label Key Caps includes tags so you can label all of your keys. This is particularly useful for those keys that are rarely used. For example, I have my luggage keys on my key ring so I don’t lose them. However, these keys are only used at most twice a year so I never remember which key goes to which suitcase. That means I have to test them all to see which key goes with which suitcase. Label-Label Key Caps eliminate that problem.
The pack includes both pre-printed and blank labels. The pre-printed ones are labeled with home, office, gate, and garage. I really like that they included blank ones as well because I also have keys on my key chain for our shed, our luggage, and our lock boxes.
Each Label-Label Key Cap pack comes with instructions for use printed on the back of the package. However, it really couldn’t be simpler to install the caps on your keys.
- Clean your key with hot soapy water, then rinse and dry well. This will make sure the label sticks to your key.
- Write on the label (or use one of the pre-printed labels).
- Peel off back to the transparent sticker and cover the label. This will make sure that your label remains legible indefinitely.
- Remove the backing and stick the label to your key. Trim to fit.
- Slide the key cap on your keys with the knobs at the top.
I mentioned the knobs in the last step. These 2 little knobs don’t look like much, but they can be a big help when you are trying to open a door in the dark, Just make sure that your key cap has the knobs situated at the top of the key. Then if you are trying to open a door in the dark, you will be able to tell by touch whether or not your key is situated correctly to open the door.
Want to end your own key-fumbling frustration? Label-Label Key Caps are available in many different quantities and colors. You can get a multi-color pack, like the one I received to try, or you can also get single color packs. That’s useful when you have multiples of one particular key. Like in our house, there are 4 of us who have copies of the house key, plus we have a spare. So we could use one of the single color key cap packs so that everyone can tell at a glance which key is the house key, no matter whose key ring you are using. If you have a larger quantity of keys, they also have bulk packs. You can order key caps online at http://labellabelkeycap.com/
