Do you ever worry about keeping your valuables safe in case of a home invasion? A hidden book safe can help keep your valuables protected from thieves and provide peace of mind. Inexpensive yet invaluable, these hidden safes are designed to blend in with other books on a bookshelf. Most likely it would be overlooked as the robber is looking to get in and out quickly. They aren’t going to spend time looking through a bunch of books when there are other much more obvious hiding places.

My husband and I bought a hidden book safe when we were first married. We don’t have that many valuables, but we do use it to keep a small amount of spare cash in the house in case of emergencies. Our hidden safe is designed to look like a dictionary and is tucked away into the bottom of a bookshelf. In all the years we’ve had it, our kids have never once noticed it. That’s not too surprising – I mean what child ever picks up a dictionary to read it?! It brings me peace of mind knowing that it is there should there ever be an emergency and we need the money contained within it.

We are actually considering getting a hidden book safe for our son when he leaves for college in the fall. Not everyone is fortunate enough to be paired up with a roommate they can trust. This is a excellent way that students can protect their valuables from their roommate and others who might visit their dorm room. Simply put it on a shelf with their textbooks. They just need to make sure to keep the key to their book safe hidden elsewhere and only open it when they are alone so their roommate doesn’t know that the book is actually a hiding spot.
