I am always excited to be able to add to my squished penny collection. Today I was able to add 8 new US Air Force Museum pressed pennies to my collection, which now numbers over 1000 elongated coins. For years, the museum just had one machine with 4 designs. Evidently the USAF museum retired their old machine and put in 2 new machines, with 4 dies each. So for us collectors, that is 8 new coins!
The new designs are
- an Eagle in front of the US flag
- Museum Logo
- Space Shuttle
- Wright Flyer
- F-22 Plane
- P-51 Plane
- B-17 Plane
- F-16 Plane
If you are in the Dayton, Ohio area, the US Air Force Museum is free to visit. It’s a great place to spend the afternoon. Kids are usually fascinated by the assortment of planes. The museum has three large hangars to explore with collections ranging from early flight, to the world wars, to the space era. While you are there, you can also visit the aviation hall of fame. They also have an Imax theater, but you have to pay for that.
So tell me… Do you collect pressed pennies? What do you think of the latest US Air Force Museum pressed pennies?

Cool! I wonder if the Naval Air Museum in Pensacola has these?…. I think it’s time for a visit to see!!
I have a very small collection of squished pennies… *very* small… but they’re such a unique memento to collect from vacations! I’m always on the lookout for the penny machines when we travel. Years ago, I was given a squished penny from the USS Arizona Memorial in Hawaii. I had never seen one before and was mesmerized!
Gwen,
Glad to hear from a fellow collector! To see if they have a machine there, check out the machine locations list at Penny Collector.

I always check it out before I head somewhere so I know if I need to bring quarters and pennies.
