I love crafting for all sorts of holidays and special occasions. With St. Patrick’s Day approaching, I wanted to create a little something to hang off my porch. So I came up with a quick and easy Shamrock Wind Spinner made from plastic canvas. You can probably complete it in a weekend or in a couple of nights. So if you hurry, you might be able to get one done by St. Patrick’s Day. This pattern doesn’t require any specialty stitches, so it is a good pattern for beginners or kids. Every holiday, I hang a handmade banner in our stairwell, so it greets people as they enter our home. A couple of years ago, I designed this free plastic canvas pattern for a Thanksgiving Banner. American Girl Doll Halloween Candy Bucket – Free Plastic Canvas Pattern
With Halloween fast approaching, I couldn’t resist making a little something for The Little One’s doll. I settled on an American Girl Doll Halloween candy bucket. It worked up really quickly and is so cute. The free plastic canvas pattern could also be used to make little treat baskets for a Halloween party. I think they would be cute filled with candy corn.

Make an American Girl Headband – Free Plastic Canvas Pattern
While I love crafting for my daughters’ American Girl dolls, I also enjoy crafting with my daughters. At their age though, the crafts have to be fairly simple and completed in one session so they don’t lose interest. I have been teaching them to sew using plastic canvas so I came up with a simple project that the girls can make by themselves. American Girl Doll Flip Flops ~ Free Plastic Canvas Pattern
My youngest daughter adores her American Girl dolls and I love making things for her dolls. It’s a win-sin situation! Lately I have been tackling 18 inch doll shoes. My latest creation is a pair of American Girl Doll Flip Flops. Made from plastic canvas, these adorable little shoes work up quickly. One pair takes 30-45 minutes. This would be a good summer project to help teach your daughter to sew, especially if you used the plastic beginner’s needles.
