Quick and Easy Fall Wreath Tutorial

Autumn Wreath

I love this time of year!  The kids are settled into their school routines, the weather is starting to cool, and it is time to pull out the fall decorations.  This Autumn wreath I made is one of my favorites as it stays up in our entryway through Thanksgiving.  I thought I would put up a quick fall wreath tutorial for those of you that might like a super quick craft to start off your Autumn decorating.  You can put the whole thing together in about 20 minutes!

Quick and Easy Fall Wreath Tutorial

Materials:

  • 18 inch Grapevine Wreath
  • pack of loose faux Autumn leaves
  • Scarecrow Pick
  • 2 small Autumn Flower Picks
  • 1 Autumn pick with Acorns, etc
  • 1 yard Autumn themed wire-edged Ribbon
  • 1 pipecleaner
  • Thin gauge Wire and wire cutters
  • Glue gun
  • EZ Bowz Maker (optional – alternately you can purchase a ready made bow)

You may be able to find the Autumn picks, scarecrow, and leaves at the Dollar Store, which would make this project even less expensive.  They had a pretty good assortment at our local store.

Instructions:

Start by making your bow.  If you don’t have an EZ Bowz Maker, here is a video that shows how to make a quick bow by hand.  Using the picture as  a guide, cut a notch out of each of the ribbon tails to form the decorative ends.  Loop the pipecleaner through the back of your bow and use it to attach to the top of the wreath.  The ends can be twisted together to form a hanger.

Use a glue gun to attach loose leaves (10-15) to the wreath on the right side.  Cut the stake part off of the scarecrow and wire the scarecrow to the wreath over the leaves to make it look like he is lounging on the wreath.  Arrange the floral picks to your liking on the left side of the wreath and use wire or the glue gun to hold in place.

Quick and easy!  I hope you enjoyed this fall wreath tutorial.  So tell me… What crafts are you working on this fall?
