Did you know it’s National Frozen Food Month? I didn’t either 🙂 But there’s no denying that frozen foods can make life a lot easier for a busy mom. Mornings are hectic in our home with trying to get 3 kids fed and off to school. I frequently rely on Van’s Frozen waffles to make my life a little easier.
Van’s waffles are a favorite with my kids. I love them too – they are convenient, they taste great, and they don’t have any yucky ingredients like high fructose corn syrup or preservatives. All of Van’s waffles are Non-GMO Project verified. I don’t serve a lot of convenience foods to my kids, but I always have some Van’s waffles on hand.
I usually buy Van’s Love Your Heart Waffles. Each waffle contains 1 gram of soluble fiber and a whopping 34 grams of whole grains. My kids have no idea that they are so good for them – they just know that they taste great.
Although we don’t have anyone in the house on a special diet, I also frequently buy Van’s gluten-free waffles. If you have a child with food sensitivities, this is a great option for you. Not only are they gluten-free, but they are also free from egg, dairy, and corn. They are made with whole grains and sweetened with fruit juice. They have several different varieties of their gluten-free waffles – original, blueberry, apple cinnamon, ancient grains, and buckwheat with berries and flax.
As a mom who tries to feed her kids the healthiest foods posssible, I really appreciate that Van’s is committed to providing high quality products. If you read through the ingredients list on the packaging, you will discover that Van’s waffles are made with ingredients you will recognize. There aren’t any additives, preservatives, artificial flavors, or artificial colors in there.
Have you ever tried Van’s Waffles? Even if mornings are hectic in your house, you can still serve your kids a nutritious breakfast before they head out the door. Here are some topping ideas to inspire you:
- Top Van’s waffles with sliced fresh fruit of your choice and a drizzle of real maple syrup.
- Slather a Van’s waffle with your favorite variety of nut butter and sliced bananas.
- For a real treat, spread a Van’s Waffle with chocolate hazelnut spread (homemade if you have it) and sliced strawberries.
